... have been going on.
1st - Will is now Assistant Cubmaster of our Pack.
2nd - I'm a committee member for our Pack.
We went to a fire safety day at the local Lowes this past Monday...
We went to the dentist Friday, fulfilling a piece of his Tiger Cub Rank.
We went to Dorchester Colonial Park Saturday... an attempt to find some rocks and minerals for a Geology belt loop. We had no luck with that but we did learn a good deal from some archaeologists working the site.
Lots more coming up in the next month... Will and I will start getting into our new roles. We have our first district camp out on Friday night. Will and I are going to BALOO training in November. We have a Pack Thanksgiving pot luck to plan. We are hosting the den meetings in November/December.

Raingutter Regatta 2013
Yesterday we participated in our first Raingutter Regatta. There were 5 Tiger Cubs, 3 Wolf Cubs, and 2 Webelos in attendance plus quite a few siblings of scouts. The event was done during an overnight camping trip but, we didn't end up camping because we have yet to find out camping equipment from when we put it away after the flood in January.
So we went up for the day, getting there around 0945... we started making our boat. Thank goodness one of the parents that has been around brought some heavy grade sand paper because it would have taken us much longer to do what we did with the fingernail files that came in the kits. We finished our boat right before lunch. We did lunch (picnic in the car) and then went back to the area where everyone else was finishing their boats. Lando was able to play for a bit before everyone finished their boats.
After boats were finished, the Cub Master rounded everyone up for some knot tying. By this time though (1330-1400) the kids were all wearing down and getting whiney or just wanted to fall asleep at the tables. But Will at least remembered how to tie some knots so he was able to help Landon (and also got volunteered to teach a square knot at the next pack meeting since the Cub Master was having a hard time teaching it.
Finally at 1520 we got to doing the actual regatta. The kids were so excited. Lando won his first race, lost his second race, but he was able to be put into the second round as every Tiger cub had the same luck. Second round he won both races. Third round, he won both races. So he became the Tiger Cub winner for this year. Which, is pretty exciting.
We were all exhausted at the end of the day... but it was worth it.
